O'Brien's Emit rallies late on to land Marble City Stakes Joseph O'Brien and Dylan Browne McMonagle completed a double on the afternoon, as Emit rallied close home to win the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Marble City Stakes. Sent off 15/8, the son of Too Harn Hot chased Heather for much of this contest, before coming through to lead early in the straight. Strongly pressed by Sharpen over a furlong out, Emit briefly dropped back to second over 200 yards out. However, to his credit, the colt found extra when asked for more inside the last 50 yards, getting back up in the shadows of the post to win by half-a-length. "He was game and tough. He always been resilient. He was unlucky in the Curragh in that group race where he came out the worst of it,” said O’Brien. “Ascot didn’t really go to plan for us and we were happy to put a line through after the way the race set up. “We decided we’d come here up in distance and he seemed to really enjoy the extra distance. He fought really well. “Dylan said he’d even go a mile-and-six. “I suppose he’s into group races now. It’s lovely to have a stakes winner for the Niarchos family and Alan (Cooper) is here today. We’re delighted to have a nice horse for the team.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
