Deakin completed a short-priced double for Joseph O'Brien and Dylan Browne McMonagle, as he eased to a six-length win in the Racing Here Again On September 25th 2023 Maiden.

Third on his sole start as a juvenile at Killarney in October, the Australia chestnut was last seen finishing a close-up fourth in handicap company at the Curragh.

Fitted with cheekpieces for the first time and expected to make the breakthrough this evening, the three-year-old was sent off the even money favourite in the colours of OTI Racing.

Settled in second, he eased to the front with over two-furlongs to race and was soon ridden clear, coming home six-lengths to the good.

The Kevin Prendergast-trained Eastmore (10/3) filled the runner-up spot under Scott McCullagh, while Rioja Alta (15/2) was another two-and-three-parts of a length back in third.

"He was a little bit unlucky the last day in a handicap at the Curragh. I got boxed in well back and he finished good," the winning rider commented.

"He's come on plenty and was back in maiden company today.

"He's straightforward, he travelled and picked up good off the bend. I knew he'd stay well and I'm delighted to get his head in front."

O'Brien and Browne McMonagle earlier claimed the opener with Stromberg who was returned at the prohibitive odds of 1/5.
