Options Open For Tribes City Of Tribes could seek to plunder another valuable contest after pleasing Ger Lyons since scoring at Chester.Coming with a flying finish to beat subsequent York scorer Morinqua earlier in the month, he has the option of running at Haydock and Newmarket this weekend.'He holds entries in a handicap at Newmarket and he´s also in the (Listed) Sandy Lane at Haydock this Saturday,' explained County Meath-based Lyons.'They´ve put him up to 103 after his win the other day and the second won well at York last week but the secret to him is good ground, not fast ground.'There´s no races over here for him at the moment but I haven´t decided on this weekend yet. At the moment Haydock is good to soft and Newmarket is good, so Haydock might just be the favourite.'He might go for either contest and if he doesn´t, he´ll probably go to Sandown in a couple of weeks.'While Lyons has been pleased with the progress City Of Tribes has made this season, he is not keen to take on older sprinters just yet.'There´s no point in him turning up over here and taking on horses like Osterhase and Dandy Man,' he continued.'Our horse´s first run was blistering last year in that he beat a Group One winner (Miss Beatrix) and that was very good form but he learned little from it.'He was very buzzy and all he wanted to do was gallop and we gelded him over the winter.'He´s just starting to train now and his Chester win probably taught him more than all his other races put together.'He had to settle and behave and then be brave when he got the gap. He came back a different horse and I hope it´ll be all forward from here.'How high he can go from a mark of 103 I´m not sure, but If we can get five or six runs into him this year I think we´ll have a cracking horse next year.'(C) PA Sport
