Paris Pike on comeback trail

Paris Pike, who missed the whole of the last jumps season with a leg injury, will return to action early in December.

Trainer Ferdy Murphy said after his Millions had won the Oliver Wendels Memorial Novices` Chase at Sedgefield today: 'He has been back in for five weeks and seems in great form.

'We will give the Hennessy at Newbury a miss and we will run him at Kelso on December 3rd. And he will have only four races this season with the Cheltenham Gold Cup the main target.'

The nine-year-old Satco gelding won his last four races in the 1999-2000 season culminating in the Ladbroke Casinos Scottish Grand National. He has not raced since the Ayr marathon in April 2000.

Minor leg trouble late that autumn put him out for the season and surgery was carried out, but he suffered an adverse reaction afterwards.
