Percy Team Consider Coronation Sir Percy appears set to tackle the Vodafone Coronation Cup next week in preference to the Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown. While no firm plan has been made, handler Marcus Tregoning is keen to return to the scene of last year´s Derby success with his stable star.'He obviously handled Epsom really well last year, so hopefully he will again, and he goes there with a very good chance,' he said.'His work has been extremely good and I´ve been very pleased with him.'I think he´ll be fit enough, he looks well and is healthy and, physically, I think he has improved quite a bit.'He hasn´t grown at all but you can see he´s a stronger horse muscle-wise. We´ve all been happy with him and I´m looking forward to running him again.'Sir Percy had his first taste of action in 2007 when fourth to Vengeance Of Rain in the Dubai Sheema Classic in March. That promising effort suggested he could be in for another lucrative campaign, although Tregoning feels he was not operating at his best at Nad Al Sheba.'Unfortunately, I didn´t take on board the fact he would be so lazy working on his own and we had no lead horse to stoke him up. Although he did some nice works, I just felt they were a little bit unsatisfactory,' he told the Racing Post.'It was evident to me in the race that he was just fractionally short.'He came there with a reasonable chance and then appeared to flatten out before going again ? usually a sign they´re just short of their best.'(C) PA Sport
