Percy Team Play The Waiting Game Marcus Tregoning has decided against giving Sir Percy a prep run before pitching him against older horses in one of the top middle-distance races next month. The Lambourn trainer ruled out the Dubai Duty Free Arc Trial at Newbury on Friday week and is in no hurry about choosing between the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe or the Emirates Airline Champion Stakes as the Derby winner's big autumn target.'I don't think he's going to have a run before. There's no need because he's had those races earlier on,' said Tregoning.'He's not difficult that way. He'll be as fit as a fiddle so there's no need to worry about prep races.'I don't know which race yet. We'll play that one a bit nearer the time. We'll wait until we know a bit more.'I think that's the way to play it at the moment.'Sir Percy, who suffered his only defeat to George Washington in the 2000 Guineas before his last-gasp win in the Vodafone Derby, delighted connections in his latest piece of work when partnered by his regular jockey Martin Dwyer.'He's in very, very good form ? I couldn't be more pleased with him,' added Tregoning.'Martin Dwyer has been riding him in his work. He's going very well and we couldn't be more happy with him.'He doesn't need a huge amount of work and he's a delight to train.'Sir Percy is a best-priced 16-1 for the Arc at Longchamp on October 1. ?
