Percy Trip Doubt

Martin Dwyer believes unbeaten Classic contender Sir Percy is not certain to get the trip of a mile and a half in the Vodafone Derby.

The rider partnered the Marcus Tregoning-trained colt, by top miler Mark Of Esteem, to victory in all four of his races as a two-year-old.

'He´s probably the best horse I´ve ridden,' the jockey told At The Races.

'He´s improving all the time, but I´m not sure whether he will stay the Derby trip.

'Marcus thinks he will and on the dam´s (Percy´s Lass) side he should do, but we´ll take it one step at a time.

'It´s nice to have a horse of that calibre to run in a Classic this year.'

Sir Percy is a top-priced 12-1 for the ultimatepoker.com 2000 Guineas and 16-1 for the Derby.
