Perfect Result For Noseda Simply Perfect strengthened trainer Jeremy Noseda's grip on the Stan James 1000 Guineas by winning the Meon Valley Stud Fillies' Mile at Ascot. The Newmarket handler is already responsible for ante-post favourite Sander Camillo, who is set to reappear in the Sky Bet Cheveley Park Stakes on Friday. And Simply Perfect staked her claim when leading a furlong out and getting home in this Group One race by a length and a half from Treat, with English Ballet a further three-quarters of a length away third. The winner was cut to 16-1 from 25-1 for the Guineas by totesport, Paddy Power and Cashmans, while VC Bet go 14-1 from 20s and Coral 14-1 from 25s. The sponsors and William Hill are 16-1 from 20s.Noseda, who will run Ladbrokes St Leger hero Sixties Icon in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe next weekend, said: 'She's a tough, honest filly. She showed form over five in the Queen Mary and has progressed and got better as she's stepped up in trip.'We couldn't have asked for more in winning a Group One. I think she has to be considered for the 1000 Guineas. 'We've got to get the job done with Sander Camillo in the Cheveley Park at Newmarket next Friday as long as the ground is fast.'Let's hope we have those sort of things to think about during the winter.'Simply Perfect (11-4) had to survive a stewards' inquiry as Treat had to be snatched up in the last 100 yards. The previously unbeaten Sesmen, supplemented for the race on Monday at a cost of £20,000, pulled her way to the front, with Treat prominent on the outside and Lost In Wonder third. There was little change in the order as they turned into the straight where Simply Perfect cruised to the front two furlongs out.Treat rallied and her jockey Jamie Spencer had to stop riding briefly as Simply Perfect moved over towards the far rail. Not surprisingly, the placings remained unaltered and winning rider Darryll Holland said: 'She came slightly to the right but I think I was clear of Jamie and left him enough room anyway.'I said to Jeremy the other day when I rode her work that she's a very strong filly. It's her second time over a mile and she really dropped her head for me.'She's very tough, she travels really well and gets the trip really well.'I think she wants better ground than this, it's probably not ideal for her. Better ground will probably see her lengthen a little bit more than she did there,' the rider told BBC Sport.(C) PA Sport
