Pulse aims for more Cheltenham success Cheltenham Festival winner Finger Onthe Pulse is to seek further big-race success at Prestbury Park in next week's Boylesports.com Gold Cup. Tom Taaffe's seven-year-old is set to carry 10st 4lb in the prestigious race, a fair bit less than he was saddled with when beating last month's Paddy Power Gold Cup runner-up Barbers Shop in the Jewson Novices' Handicap Chase in March. Finger Onthe Pulse, who carries the same Conor Clarkson colours as Gold Cup hero Kicking King, regained the winning thread at Limerick in October but was beaten 12 lengths by Noland at Down Royal last time. "He was going to run at Newcastle last weekend but now that's off, I'd imagine we'd go for the Boylesports," said Taaffe. The Kildare trainer is considering the options for another of his leading lights, Glenfinn Captain, who has regained the promise of his younger days with two decisive victories at Clonmel this season. "He seems to have found his form again, which is something to look forward to," Taaffe added. "We will try to find him a race at Christmas now."
