Punchestown inspect again at 10am

Following an early morning inspection of the course at Punchestown, parts of the track were found to be unraceable after a severe overnight frost and a further inspection will take place at 10am.

Clerk of the course Joe Collins has decided to give the meeting, featuring the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase, every chance by having a second look.

'Parts of the track are unraceable but they are optimistic because they have been told by the Met Office that there will be a rise in temperature,' said Irish Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone.

'They just want to be 100% sure so they are going to have another look at 10am.'
