Quick Reappearance Possible for Taipan Tom Mullins is going to check on the availability of Davy Russell before committing Made In Taipan to an engagement at Cheltenham's Open meeting this week. The gelding, who made a winning debut over fences at Navan on Saturday, holds entries in the Steel Plate And Sections Novices' Chase over an extended two and a half miles on Friday and in the two-mile Independent Newspaper Novices' Chase on Sunday. "We've not ruled it out. He's extremely well after his win on Saturday. He's very well in himself and he could run," said the County Kilkenny trainer. "I didn't think I'd be running him after that, but he's come out of his race extremely well and it's very much a possibility. "I would like Davy Russell to ride him and I know that he could on Friday in the two-and-a-half miler, but he's said that it would be unlikely he could on Sunday as he would probably be in Punchestown. "We're going to see what happens there before we make up our minds."
