Aristotle and Sinndar will fly the Irish flag against 14 others in tomorrow's Vodafone Epsom Derby but the former Lincoln winner Right Wing is set to travel in the other direction across the Irish Sea and have his first attempt at a Group race in the Curragh's Gallinule Stakes.

Kevin Manning will take the ride on John Dunlop's six-year-old who has already scored in Listed company this season at Kempton, using waiting tactics that also paid off in the 1999 Lincoln at Doncaster.

Ranged against Right Wing will be Sinndar's stable companion Takali and the Dermot Weldtrained Jammaal while Aidan O'Brien will decide this morning if last year's Gallinule winner Urban Ocean will attempt a repeat. Urban Ocean has an alternative entry in the Grand Prix de Chantilly.

Manning can successfully warm up for his Right Wing task courtesy of the Jim Gorman trained Contradiction in tonight's seven-furlong handicap at Cork.

The race is reduced to three which includes a horse who finished fifth at Wexford last time. Shakespeare would have been an Epsom longshot had he taken up the Derby engagement but he should still be much too good for Rickison.
