RTE in dispute over Traverse winnings.

The star of Hector O´hEoghagain´s Only Fools Buy Horses series, Traverse, has become involved in the centre of a dispute over winnings earned by the horse which, it had been hoped, would be donated to the Sean Jnr Fund.

The fund was set up to donate proceeds to the son of Traverse´s jockey Sean Cleary who died last year. However RTE are set to donate just E6,800 (from the horse´s first win) to the fund instead of the extra E7,200 won by Traverse when Danny Grant rode the horse.

One of the show´s orginators Padraic Maloney described the decision stating 'I am disgusted at their petty-mindedness.' He added 'There was an informal agreement between us - myself, Hector, Pat Flynn (trainer) and Red Pepper Productions and RTE that the prize money would go to the Sean Cleary Fund.'

It is now possible that the case may be settled in the High COurt.
