Rain forecast for Down Royal Down Royal hold their big jumps meeting of the year this weekend and the ground looks set to soften a bit before their two-day fixture begins on Friday. Following 1mm of rain and a breezy day yesterday the going is good to yielding on the hurdle track and good, good to yielding in places on the chase course, where selective watering is taking place. There is the possibility of approximately 16mm of rain on Thursday and 5mm on Friday. Envoi Allen is on course for the Grade 1 BetVictor Champion Chase again having won the contest last year and in 2022. Galway Plate winner Western Fold and Punchestown Gold Cup runner-up Spillane's Tower are among the possible rivals.
