Ramonti On Course For Ascot Ramonti is on course for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot on Saturday week after bouncing out of his recent Longchamp second in good shape.Having won the Queen Anne and Sussex Stakes earlier in the year, the Godolphin-trained runner had to settle for minor honours behind Darjina in the Prix du Moulin, with George Washington in third.'I think the filly was better than him that day, but after the race he was happy and fresh,' trainer Saeed bin Suroor told At The Races.'We are happy with him and he worked well today. He is ready to go to Ascot for the Queen Elizabeth II.'The Godolphin operation have yet to rule out running a pacemaker and bin Suroor says the entire´s stellar season has come as no surprise.'We´ll think about (a pacemaker), but there is no final decision at the moment,' bin Suroor added.'Since he ran well first time at Newbury (second in the Lockinge), I knew the horse would be good enough to run in Group Ones and to win Group Ones.'Before he came to England he´d always been working well and showed us a good turn of foot, speed and class.(C) PA Sport
