Rebel Claims Diamond Honours

Arch Rebel came from the rear of the field to capture the Diamond Stakes at Fairyhouse.

Noel Meade's six-year-old had a lot to do entering the straight but found plenty for Fran Berry.

There were several horses with chances a furlong out but it was Arch Rebel (7-1), challenging in the centre of the course, who came out on top in the Listed contest over a mile and a quarter.

Fracas was a length and a quarter away in second place with Crossing third.

Meade said: 'The horse has been flying recently and Fran Berry said that each time he rides him, the horse feels better.

'He had a slight joint problem which seems to have been sorted out.

'Although this plan may seem a bit ambitious, he's probably going to go for the Cumberland Lodge Stakes at Ascot in a couple of weeks.'
