Ross stays on best for Coakley Rossgavand followed up her Downpatrick maiden hurdle win last month by showing good reserves of stamina to land the three miles novice under Paddy Flood at Kilbeggan this evening. The six-year-old mare headed the front-running favourite By The Brook at the final flight before holding off the challenge of Rocket Boy by a length and a quarter. Trainer Jarlath Fahey is currently away on holiday in France but delighted winning owner Denis Coakley, a former amateur rider, said, "She jumps and stays well, and will keep to that type of race for the summer. Hopefully Jarlath will have got some of his holiday expenses this evening!"
