Sakhee to stay in training next year

Sakhee, narrowly beaten by Tiznow in Saturday`s Breeders` Cup Classic, is to remain in training next year.

The decision announced today by Sakhee`s owners, Godolphin, on their official web-site sets up the possibility of a re-match with Tiznow at Belmont Park next year.

Sakhee, trained by Saeed bin Suroor, will first be aimed at next year`s Dubai World Cup at Nad Al Sheba next March.

He was very impressive when victorious in the Juddmonte International at York in August and even more so when romping through the mud to win the Prix de l`Arc de Triomphe over 12 furlongs on turf at Longchamp earlier this month.

Sakhee will fly directly to Dubai from the USA within the next seven days.

The decision to keep Sakhee in training is a continuation of a policy that paid dividends when five-year-old Fantastic Light took the Breeders` Cup Turf.

Fantastic Light would have been an attractive stallion prospect had he been retired last winter but by keeping him in training he has enhanced his value further with winning performances in the very best company.
