Secret Set For Sprint Showdown

Sakhee's Secret is Ladbrokes' 2-1 favourite to win the Betfred Sprint Cup after Hughie Morrison revealed the July Cup winner is 'unlikely' to run in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York.

Morrison had been debating whether his stable star would drop down to five furlongs for the first time in the Group One event on August 23.

But it now looks as if he will have his next start in the six-furlong Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock next month.

Morrison said: 'I will make my mind up towards the end of next week but I think we will probably go to Haydock.

'I just want to keep my options open really, nothing more than that.

'The York race doesn't look that strong at the moment so you never know, I might suddenly change my mind next week, but it is unlikely at this stage.

'I've given him a short holiday. He's just been trotting around the place for the past month but he doesn't need much work as he is quite a natural athlete and doesn't take a lot of getting fit.'
