Six of the best for record chasing McCoy

Champion jockey Tony McCoy has his busiest day since the Cheltenham Festival when he partners six horses at Newton Abbot today.

McCoy is still attempting to break the all-time record for the number of winners in a season held by Sir Gordon Richards.

With 265 winners already in the bag, McCoy needs just five more successes to make yet another entry in the record books and kicks off today on board Sullys Hope in the 2.15.

He then follows up with Polar Champ (2.50), Rainbow Dance (3.20), Possible Pardon (3.50), Adalie (4.20) and Supremely Red (5.25).

Meanwhile, McCoy gave his strongest hint yet that he will be on board last year`s Martell Grand National third Blowing Wind when the runners line up for next Saturday`s renewal at Aintree.

Speaking on Ch4 Racing`s `The Morning Line`, the champion jockey admitted it would be 'difficult' for him not to be on board Martin Pipe`s charge.

'It`s going to be difficult as he is one of the favourites,' said McCoy. 'He won at Cheltenham and is in good form.'

McCoy revealed he will finalise his plans this week after discussing the matter with Pipe.

'I`ll talk to the boss later in the week. It will be difficult for me not to ride him.'
