Snoopy Out Again at Huntingdon Tomorrow

Snoopy Loopy bids to increase his lead in the BHA Order Of Merit when he lines-up for the totesport.com Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon.

Peter Bowen's 10-year-old currently has 46 points, 14 more than his nearest pursuer Mahogany Blaze, who is also among the 11 horses declared for the Grade Two contest at the Cambridgeshire venue which has to pass an 8am inspection.

"He's in great form and he's come out of his race in the Hennessy really well," said Bowen of his gelding who last month won the Betfair Chase at Haydock before finishing third in the Hennessy Gold Cup.

"We'll keep chipping away at trying to get more points on the board. He's dropping back in trip but he ran well enough in the Old Roan over a similar distance. On the official ratings we've got a few pounds in hand, so hopefully he's got a good chance."

Connections of the Keith Reveley-trained Ungaro hope the nine-year-old can recapture his old sparkle, now that he is reverting to fences following a spin over hurdles and also going right-handed.

"He's got a bit to do at the weights. If it was a handicap he'd be receiving more weight. We just need to get back on track with him," said Barry Simpson, racing manager to owner Sir Robert Ogden.

"We're not going into the race with any great pretensions. He's going right-handed which we think he prefers and there aren't many options that way round for him.

"There's not a great deal for him to run in and not many races going right-handed. He's given many lengths away jumping left-handed so we are going there hoping he can recapture some of his form."
