Soldiers World makes all to land Wexford finale for Queally Runner-up on his racecourse debut at Listowel last month, the Declan Queally trained Soldiers World went one better when making all to land the concluding Omnipro INH Flat Race at Wexford. In front from the off, rider Declan Queally set steady fractions at the head of affairs over the first mile and a half. Pushed along over two-furlongs out, Soldiers World looked in trouble as Nobotheratall led a quartet of strong closers. However, Queally had clearly held something in reserve, kicking again over a furlong out. Drawing clear of his rivals inside the final furlong, the 11/4 chance won easily by six and a half lengths. Declan Queally said: "That was mighty. I got a couple of digs this morning about putting a visor on a horse in a bumper, but when I looked down through the race there was a lot of horses first time out. It's not that he is ungenuine, but he is lairy and I just wanted to be able to go off and do my own thing. He responded well to them and so it worked, but he mightn't be wearing them everyday. "I'd say he will go over hurdles next. He is probably not a bumper horse, so it's a bonus to get it today. "I bought him from Kieran Power, a friend of mine, who recommended him to me."
