Solwhit Lands Gamble Davy Russell brought the gap between himself and Ruby Walsh, in the duel for the riders championship, back to five, when partnering his first winner since returning from injury, on Solwhit for Charles Byrnes in the Evening Herald Hurdle. Backed from a general ten in the morning and from 7/1 into 5/1 on track, the French-import was providing the Top Of The Hill Syndicate with a welcome boost. They lost their good servant, Articulation, in a fall at Tipperary last October.
