Speciosa Returns In Park Stakes

Pam Sly's 1000 Guineas winner Speciosa will kickstart her autumn campaign in Saturday's Group Two GNER Park Stakes, for which a field of nine has been declared.

The Danehill Dancer filly has not been seen since finishing ninth to Nannina in the Coronation Stakes at Ascot but is likely to appreciate the cut in the ground at York.

Godolphin's impressive Betfair Cup winner and July Cup runner-up Iffraaj is also in the line-up.

The Saeed bin Suroor-trained entire bypassed an engagement in Haydock's Sprint Cup last weekend to instead run over the seven furlongs on the Knavesmire.

Sir Michael Stoute will be represented by improving filly Wasseema, who will be attempting to make the step up from Listed to Group Two company.

Tom Tate's Hungerford Stakes winner Welsh Emperor and David Chapman's evergreen nine-year-old Quito, who finished second to Reverence in the Haydock Sprint Cup, also feature.

Another contender sure to relish any ease in conditions is Tim Easterby's Somnus, while Barry Hills will rely on his filly Short Dance.

Robbie Osborne's Desmond Stakes winner King Jock and the Roger Charlton-trained Mac Love complete the field.
