Spinner Having A Break

Classy Flat performer Leg Spinner could still emerge as a possible Champion Hurdle contender, according to his trainer Tony Martin.

However, the Cesarewitch winner will not be seen out until February as Martin waits for better ground in the spring.

'He will go back over hurdles,' said Martin.

'But he just can't go through the ground we get in the winter.

'It makes more sense to take a break with him now and then bring him back in the spring.

'It's possible that he could develop in to a Champion Hurdle horse. You don't win the races he has won on the Flat without having a bit of class.

'If he does improve that might be the route we'd go. He won't be out until February at the earliest though.'
