Star to represent Martin at Sandown Royal County Star will be Tony Martin´s only representative in the Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown on Saturday. The Irish Grand National runner-up heads the ante-post market at a top-priced 6-1 as he bids to become only the fifth Irish-trained winner of this end-of-season feature that first took place in 1957. Martin´s other two entries in the valuable handicap chase, Patsy Hall and Newbay Prop, are to take up engagements at Punchestown instead. Newbay Prop runs in the Dunboyne Castle & Spa Handicap Chase on Friday while Patsy Hall heads for the Whitewater Centre Pat Taaffe Handicap Chase there on Saturday. Patsy Hall was 14-1 and Newbay Prop 16-1 for the Sandown stamina test. "I´m just going to run Royal County Star. Newbay Prop goes tomorrow in Punchestown and Patsy Hall will run on Saturday," said Martin. "We´re very happy with Royal County Star and, touch wood, he´ll give a good account of himself." Timmy Murphy rode Royal County Star at Fairyhouse last month but Robbie Colgan, who had partnered the nine-year-old in five of his six previous starts, is back in the plate. "Robbie Colgan´s back on board. The boy´s ridden a lot in the past," added Martin.
