Stars In Wincanton Prep

All In The Stars will begin his preparations for the Scottish Grand National with a run in Saturday's Country Gentlemen's Association Chase at Wincanton.

The eight-year-old has been off the track since finishing second to Royal Auclair at Cheltenham in December with Paul Keane gearing his programme towards the Ayr race on April 22.

'He definitely runs at Wincanton and although he's in good form, I think he will need the run as he's had a bit of a break,' said the Motcomb handler.

'We gave him some time off after his last run as the target is definitely the Scottish National at Ayr in April.

'The options for him are quite limited as he's rated 132 and he would need them to go at a quick pace on Saturday to have a chance.'

All In The Stars was an impressive winner at Fontwell in November before going on to finish fifth in the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup.

Keane is looking to give the gelding a couple of warm-ups before the Scottish National and he has already identified some possible Cheltenham Festival opportunities.

'I would like to give him one or two runs before Ayr and he will be entered for the Kim Muir and the William Hill Handicap Chase at the Festival,' he said.

'He'd like it there as they go such a quick pace and he would be suited by the uphill finish so we will have a look. If he didn't run there, I might consider running him over hurdles instead.

'The 2007 Grand National will be his long-term target next year but we'll concentrate on Ayr this time.'
