Storm Cat retired from stud Top American stallion Storm Cat has been retired due to infertility at the age 25. The Storm Bird horse has sired such horses as six-times Group One winner Giant´s Causeway, Hennessy, Tale Of The Cat and Tabasco Cat and stood for a US$500,000 fee from 2002 until this year. Ric Waldman, stallion operations manager for Overbrook Farm in Lexington, said: "His statistics for (impregnating) mares last year were erratic but he did finish the season very strong. "This year he wasn´t (impregnating) mares and his semen quality was dropping off as well. His health is good for a 25-year-old horse," he told the Thoroughbred Times website. Storm Cat´s retirement comes just two days after that of legendary European sire Sadler´s Wells, who bowed out on Monday.
