Stride given Guineas go-ahead Perfect Stride has been given the go-ahead to contest the stanjamesuk.com 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday. Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, the son of Oasis Dream was forced to miss his intended prep run in the Craven after sustaining a minor injury. However, he pleased connections when working on Monday and is likely to enjoy another light piece of exercise on Thursday before all roads lead to Headquarters. Rabbah Bloodstock´s racing director, Bruce Raymond, said of the Saeed Suhail-owned colt: "Perfect Stride is on course to run in the Guineas. "He banged a hock just before the Craven but there was only a minor strain. "Sir Michael and his team seem to have sorted it out very well," he told www.rabbahbloodstock.co.uk. "Of course he did miss a race and had to have a few days off, but Sir Michael would not be running him if he wasn´t entirely happy with him. "He worked nicely on Monday and will probably breeze tomorrow." Scintillo has already tasted success at the highest level, having won the Gran Criterium in Italy on his final start as a juvenile. However, Richard Hannon´s charge dropped away very tamely when beaten a long way behind Twice Over on his seasonal reappearance. While connections found nothing to explain that poor show, Scintillo showed much more verve on the gallops on Wednesday. "He worked very well this morning and I think he will have a chance," said assistant trainer Richard Hannon jnr. "I certainly think he´ll run a lot better than he did in the Craven first time out. "He was very disappointing last time and we don´t know what happened then. "We scoped him and went right through everything and couldn´t find anything wrong, but he has worked much better this morning and we´ll have a go."
