Strong Trade Continues At Goffs June National Hunt Sale The third day of the Goffs June National Hunt Sale saw a most satisfactory level of trade highlighted by an Oscar gelding (Lot 763), out of a winning own sister to the Grade 1 performer Sharpical. There was plenty of competition for the 4 year old who was sent up by Crohane Stud, but it was Brendan Bashford Bloodstock, acting for an established client, who had the final say at € 47,000. Later on in the session Roefield Stables went to € 30,000 to secure a 3 year old son of Luso (Lot 827) offered by Oak Tree Farm whilst Grand National winning trainer Martin Brassil paid € 26,000 for a four year old Marignan gelding (Lot 743) from the immediate family of Champion Hurdle winner Beech Road. Another trainer to get on the buyer´s sheet was Trevor Horgan who purchased a four year old Turtle Island gelding (Lot 755) from Glenwwod Stud. Commenting on the sale Goffs Chairman Eimear Mulhern said: 'It was a day of solid trading with the better horses selling very well and this was bourn out by a 10% rise in the average price. Many of the leading buyers were present, which is a reflection of this sale´s growing reputation for selling high class racehorses at realistic prices.' The aggregate for the third day of the June National Hunt Sale was over € 1.2m, average price was up 10% to € 8,556 while the median was € 7,000.
