Sun Alliance Hurdle hope Cloudy Grey out for season. Trainer Emma Lavelle has reported that her promising seven year old gelding Cloudy Grey will miss the rest of the season after fracturing a a fetlock in a racecourse gallop at the weekend. The dual bumper winner made a winning start to his hurdling career and had been quoted around 14/1 for the Sun Alliance Hurdle at Cheltenham. However Lavelle yesterday stated 'he was one of five horses we took to Newbury on Sunday for a racecourse gallop. He did everything right and pulled up sound, but when we got him home and took him off the box he was hopping lame and had suffered a lateral condular fracture of his off-hind fetlock.' She added 'the one thing at least with a bone injury is that they do heal properly whereas tendons don´t heal absolutely.'
