TAN FOR AINTREE

Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup hope Frantic Tan is set to reappear at Aintree next week, it was revealed today.

The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained gelding is set to run in the Martell Cup a week tomorrow, the opening day of the Grand National meeting.

The nine-year-old had been quoted at 10-1 with Coral for the Gold Cup after his 17-length victory in the De Vere Gold Cup at Haydock last month.

His trainer said today: 'He`ll be run in the Martell Cup at Aintree.

'We`ve got to go where the racing is on but the softer the better for him.

'We`ll look at Cheltenham after he has run there.'

Frantic Tan could take on See More Business and First Gold at Aintree.
