Tavern set for one more outing Ferdy Murphy is keen to get another run into Truckers Tavern this season - regardless of whether or not he goes to the Cheltenham Festival. The Phardante gelding lost his unbeaten record on his last start but still put up his best display to date when second to Harbour Pilot in the Grade 1 Dr P J Moriarty Novice Chase at Leopardstown earlier this month. He holds entries in both the Irish Independent Arkle Challenge Trophy and Royal & SunAlliance Chase at Prestbury Park next month, with the former the intended target. However, he will only take his chance if it comes up soft.Murphy is delighted with the progress of his seven-year-old and said: 'He`s bouncing, absolutely bouncing. I am really, really pleased with him.'If it comes up soft, he goes - if it doesn`t, he doesn`t. It`s not the end of the world but he does need to race again this season to get more experience.'He`s going to be rated fairly high so he`ll have to play in the top league next year. We`ll step himup to three miles next season.'Ladbrokes quote the horse at 12-1 for the two-mile Arkle contest.
