The Matron Stakes on Champions weekend next for star filly Tahiyra After enjoying a well-deserved two-week break, Tahiyra is reported to be in excellent form according to her trainer Dermot Weld. Her next target is set to be the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown during Champions Weekend. Having showcased her exceptional talent as a juvenile, the Siyouni filly has continued her upwards curve with recent victories in the Irish 1000 Guineas and the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. Although Tahiyra experienced her sole defeat in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, finishing just half-a-length behind Mawj, she demonstrated her superiority over the rest of the field by pulling an impressive seven-and-a-half lengths clear of the third. "She's in great form. She went on two weeks holidays which she enjoyed and is back in full training now," Weld reported. "Hopefully she will head to Leopardstown on Champions Weekend for the Matron Stakes."
