Timeform Find Big Race Clues From Knavesmire Action

Following a memorable week at York, Timeform's ratings gurus have pinpointed Authorized, Honolulu and Kingsgate Native as the trio most likely to make their mark in the top end-of-season prizes.

Authorized confirmed Timeform's opinion of him as a potentially outstanding classic winner by taking the Juddmonte International by a length from King George winner Dylan Thomas.

His performance on Tuesday was rated equal on form to that which he produced at Epsom. Looking at the projected Timeform ratings for the Arc, his current figure of 133 puts him just a pound behind Andre Fabre's Manduro. With that colt having to prove his stamina for 12f, Peter Chapple-Hyam's three-year-old looks a worthy favourite at an industry-high 11-4 on Betfair.

But it was not just Authorized who put down a possible marker for 7th October, the hugely progressive Peeping Fawn making it four Group One successes in a row with her facile success in the Yorkshire Oaks.

Barely tested on the day, she has nothing left to prove against her own sex, which she'd surely reinforce if keeping to a fillies' programme through to the Breeders' Cup, and it would add further interest to the race were she to be targeted at the Arc. Now rated 126 by Timeform, she is considered the best European 3yo filly since Egyptband in 2000, and would be considered only 4lb behind Authorized under the conditions of the Arc, for which she is a 9-1 chance with Betfair.

With the potentially leading French three-year-old contenders Zambezi Sun and Sageburg still to have their mettle fully tested, there are certainly grounds for optimism that the 2007 Arc will be a vintage renewal.

The St Leger ratings also received a shake-up as Honolulu strengthened Aidan O'Brien's hand further with his very smart effort in the Ebor. Open to further improvement after just four starts, his form is second only to stablemate Soldier Of Fortune having gone so close on Wednesday off an official handicap mark of 111. He is the 13-2 third favourite on Betfair.

A day earlier, the Great Voltigeur saw Lucarno gain a deserved first pattern success, but speed was the feature of his performance and he's not sure to be as effective at the extended 14f of the St Leger.

Kingsgate Native's dazzling performance in the Nunthorpe has resulted in him now topping Timeform's two-year-old rankings, as he returned a figure of 123. Even in receipt of the overly-generous weight allowance (Timeform's weight-for-age scale indicates he should have received 17 lb, not 24 lb), he produced a genuinely high-class performance to set up the possibility of a fascinating clash with Sakhee's Secret in the Abbaye.
