Touch Of Genius´ From Carberry In Bumper

Noel Meade won the Grade 1 PADDY POWER CHAMPION INH FLAT RACE for the third time in four years when Nina Carberry steered Mick The Man - who had finished second on his four previous starts - to a stylish two-length victory.

'It´s a nice day for the horse to change his mind and get his head in front!' said Meade. 'I think he´s better on that good ground and he´s always struggled in his previous races because there was a not a good gallop.

'He´s a brilliant jumper and he´ll have some time off now before going hurdling next season. Nina is magic - she has that touch of genius.'

The well-backed Royal County Star justified 9/2 favouritism in the ULSTER BANK HANDICAP CHASE to score by three-quarters of a length for trainer Tony Martin while Pacolet landed the THREE NOVICE CHASE for trainer Pat Flynn and jockey Shay Barry.
