Trainer´s Daughter and Son on the mark The established names of Derek O´Connor, Damian Murphy, Paul Cashman and Michael O´Connor got their names on the scoresheet at Knockanard point-to-point yesterday but it was Maxine O´Sullivan that grabbed the headlines. Sixteen-year-old Maxine, rode her first winner on just her fourth attempt when partnering her trainer father Eugene´s The Merry Mason to win the novice riders open lightweight. The year older and more experienced Patrick Mangan, son of Mary and Jimmy, gained his third success in the plate on Hurry On Boy, which formed part of a treble for his Dad - he also saddled Myeniscrone and River Shanakill to win.
