Free Expression and Tell Us More head a field of seven runners for the historic first running of the E80,000 Grade 1 Lawlor's Hotel Novice Hurdle at Naas on Sunday. Both horses are putting unbeaten records on the line.

Gordon Elliott's Free Expression is the winner of his three racecourse starts and the six-year-old brings the best form as he came out on top in the Grade 2 Monksfield Hurdle at Navan in late November.

Tell Us More is one of three Willie Mullins trained runners in the race, having two wins from two racecourse starts having won a bumper and a maiden hurdle in grand style at Gowran Park. The champion trainer is also represented by Killer Crow, the winner of three races including a maiden hurdle success at Naas in November, and the four-time winner Mckinley.

On Impulse carries the hopes of local trainer Ted Walsh and he comes here on the back of an impressive win at Punchestown. Noel Meade runs his dual hurdles winner Couleur France while the Oliver McKiernan-trained Golden Boot, yet to win a race, completes the line-up.

Ahead of the race, Gordon Elliott said: "It's a great race and it's great for Naas to put on a Grade 1. Touch wood, Free Expression seems to be well. He's not a horse that would show you a whole lot at home but he is doing everything nicely. It's a big step up again but we are looking forward to Sunday."

Tom Ryan, Manager, commented: "Everything is shaping up very nicely for Sunday for what is a very historic day for Naas Racecourse. The interest in the event at a local and national level has been unprecedented; we are looking forward to welcoming a big crowd for an enjoyable afternoon's racing."
