Velvet Elvis on course for Aintree Velvet Elvis is on course for the Aintree Grand National and will have a prep run at Navan tomorrow, according to his trainer Tom Gibney. The seven year old bounced back from two pulled up efforts this winter when winning at Fairyhouse last month, a result which put the Derek Kierans-owned back on track for the Aintree showpiece. Velvet Elvis has also been declared to run in the Grade 2 Webster Cup at Navan tomorrow, saying "I'm happy with our lad. The top horse (Any Second Now) will probably be very difficult to beat, he's a very good horse in his own right. "If we run well we will be happy, that is all we are looking for. It is a prep run for Liverpool, the National. "That was the plan (to drop back in trip) and we didn't want to leave a race over here going to Aintree."
