Weather claims Yarmouth and Nottingham

Wet weather is playing havoc with racing fixtures in Britain over the next couple of days.

Tomorrow`s Flat race meeting at Yarmouth has been abandoned because of false patches of ground on the course following rain.

The card was called off following a 2pm inspection today when the stewards met to determine prospects for racing.

No problems are reported from tomorrow`s scheduled jumps meeting at Exeter and the all-weather fixture at Wolverhampton.

But Wednesday`s Flat race meeting at Nottingham has been abandoned following a 3.30pm inspection today because of waterlogging.

Officials at Newcastle are preparing to hold an inspection at noon tomorrow to assess prospects for Wednesday`s Flat meeting should the forecast of further heavy rain prove accurate.

There appear to be no problems at Chepstow, where a jumps meeting is scheduled for Wednesday.
