Wins Fine After Leopardstown Spill

Wins Now remains on target for the Arkle Trophy despite his last-fence fall at Leopardstown on Saturday.

The Niall Madden-trained six-year-old was sent off a warm favourite on his fencing bow after finishing fifth in the Supreme Novices' and second to Tidal Bay at Aintree last term.

Positive market vibes appeared justified in the Bewleys Hotel Manchester Beginners Chase but Tony McCoy's mount suffered a crashing late fall to clear the way for Pedrobob to score by a distance.

Wins Now suffered no adverse effects from that spill and is likely to have one more outing before the Cheltenham Festival.

'There's no problems with him and he's in good order,' said Madden.

'He was a bit unlucky really as he travelled well and jumped beautifully until he fell.

'We'll have to play it my ear with him but that (the Arkle) definitely looks the plan now.

'It's up to Frank (Berry, racing manager for owner JP McManus) and JP where we go next but he'll probably have one more run before Cheltenham.'

Wins Now is as low as 16-1 to win the Arkle.
