Wood Ruled Out Star Wood, who gave Essex a fright on only her third start over hurdles, will not be seen out this season.Michael Fitzgerald's front-running mare has been productive over timber and on the Flat this summer and had a fine battle with the top-class Essex in the Grade Three Kevin McManus Bookmaker Grimes Hurdle at Tipperary in July.She kept on for second that day, but Fitzgerald said: 'She got an injury after the run at Tipperary. It's unfortunate as she will miss her novice season.'I felt she would be one of the best around, but I am confident she will be back.'(C) PA Sport
