Ryanair Chase winner Heart Wood has gone out on his summer break after connections decided to give the season ending festival at Punchestown a miss.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding was an impressive winner of the Grade 1 prize at the Cheltenham festival.

He finished up his campaign by finishing third in the Melling Chase at Aintree and will enjoy his holidays now before returning next season.

"We were happy with him when he came home from Aintree and he is on his holidays now,” said the Knockeen handler.

“He's definitely not going to Punchestown and hopefully he'll be back next season."
