World Domination Put On Hold

Common World is unlikely to be seen in action again until the storm clouds gather.

Tom Hogan´s eight-year-old had been under consideration for the Akkroball Dubai Duty Free Huxley Stakes at Chester on Wednesday, but underfoot conditions have kept him at home.

'The ground is just too quick for him at the moment,' Hogan explained.

'We´ll just have to wait maybe until later in the year as it´s just unusual weather we´ve been having at this time.

'There´s plenty of mile Listed races over here and on the continent so if the ground did come right, there are plenty of opportunities for him to compete.'

While Common World will not take his chance on the Roodee this week, stablemate Flare Star will go for gold in the valuable totesport Chester Cup.

Following her Wednesday assault, the Hogan team will look ahead to the weekend when Sonnyanjoe bids for a quickfire double in the Betfredcasino Long Distance Hurdle at Haydock.

The Roselier gelding sprung a 25-1 surprise when fending off first-fence Grand National casualty Point Barrow at Punchestown last month.

'Chester is a nice meeting and we´re then going to Haydock on Saturday with Sunnyanjoe for a handicap hurdle,' Hogan added.

'Hopefully we´ll try and have some success in one place or the other.'
