Worth the Wait for O´Connor and Power The patience of the O?Connor family from Dungarvan was rewarded when Roamanob took the Ireland For Horses Handicap Hurdle at Punchestown last night and in the process the skill of Ian Power as a rider was brought back into focus. Power, without a winner since Samotwo scored for Robbie Burns at Roscommon in June 2005, has been out of the saddle for some time but as trainer Michael O?Connor put it, ?hopefully he is back on track now.? O?Connor went on, ?it took a long time for Roamanob to win but Ian gave him a great ride, he followed the instructions exactly and the horse enjoyed being back on the good ground. He got hurt when he ran out at the last when going to win a point-to-point and his legs have flared up twice so it was good to see him finally win.? The O?Connor?s have endured their fair share of bad luck with this family, Michael recalled Roamanob?s half-sister Glazeaway by saying, ?she won four races for us and Conor O?Dwyer said she would have been placed at least if she hadn?t broken her leg on the flat before the third last in Barton?s SunAlliance Hurdle about ten years ago.?
