Yeats to stay in training

Three-time Ascot Gold Cup winner Yeats is almost certain to be kept in training next season when a bid for an historic fourth at Royal Ascot will be his main target.

The son of Sadlers' Wells gave trainer Aidan O'Brien his 22nd Group 1 of the season when landing the Prix Royal Oak at Longchamp on Sunday

Speaking in Melbourne on Tuesday morning, O'Brien said: "I'm told from home that Yeats is fine after his win in France and the plan is to race on with him next year once he stays healthy and well."

Yeats is already a 3-1 favourite for the 2009 Gold Cup with Bet Direct and Stan James, and 5-2 with Boylesports.

O'Brien added that Irish Derby winner Soldier Of Fortune is also likely to stay in training as a five year old.
