York Or Curragh Next For Charlie

Connections of impressive Dubai Duty Free Anglesey Stakes winner Myboycharlie are mulling over future options after his scintillating success at the Curragh.

The unbeaten Danetime colt routed his field by seven lengths at the weekend in what was one of the most impressive displays by a juvenile this season.

He is set for a step up in class on his next start, although whether that is at York for the Ireland Gimcrack Stakes or back at the Curragh for the Independent Waterford Wedgwood Phoenix Stakes ? for which he would need to be supplemented ? has yet to be decided.

'There is not a bother on him. He was very impressive,' said Fozzy Stack, son and assistant to his father, Tommy.

'We were worried beforehand that he might not handle the very soft ground because he had done some really nice pieces of work on good ground.

'But there is the old adage that a good horse goes on any ground and it seems to be the case with him.

'For his next race we could supplement him for the Phoenix (August 12), go for the Gimcrack at York (August 22) or take him back to the Curragh for the Futurity (August 25).

'I'm sure he'll get seven furlongs, but we'll see how he is nearer the time.

'Those are the options at the minute but he is quite a ?doer' so we wouldn't want to leave him idle for too long.

'If he ran in the Gimcrack or the Phoenix it would probably be the Dewhurst of the National Stakes after that and that would be it for this year.

'Hopefully he could be a Guineas horse next year.'
