Youmzain A Possible Arc Addition Connections are to consider supplementing Youmzain for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. The three-year-old colt, trained by Mick Channon, showed he would not be out of place in the Longchamp showpiece when only beaten half a length by Rail Link in the Prix Niel.'I thought he ran an exceptional race as he's a much better horse with ease in the ground,' said owner Jaber Abdullah's racing manager Bruce Raymond.'They went a fairly good gallop but he's better when they're going very fast ahead of him. I felt there were too many horses travelling on the bridle turning in.'He's a horse that can pick them up off a fast pace so I think he ran an exceptionally good race.'There isn't too much he can go for so I suspect he'll go for the Arc. The owner will wait until the last minute ? you don't have to declare him until the end of the month,' he explained.'He's not in the race, so he would have to be supplemented ? it's a big possibility.'If the ground changes to be on the easy side it would definitely be in his favour and rule out a few others.'It wouldn't help Shirocco and Hurricane Run. Disregarding them he would be better on easier ground and a very fast gallop.'He hasn't got any other options so I'm guessing he may be supplemented but we don't know.'Raymond also revealed that it is the intention to keep Youmzain, winner of the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York last month, in training next year.'I don't think the horse has reached his peak yet. The way he has improved through the season there's no reason why he shouldn't improve to be a genuine Group One/Two horse next year,' he added.'He's bordering on it now and he seems to be coming good at the right time of his life.'(C) PA Sport
