Abu claims Longchamp glory

John Gosden`s Mount Abu (16.7-1) landed the Group One Prix de la Foret at Longchamp today.

Sixth when favourite for the Betdaq Diadem Stakes on his previous start, the four-year-old got home by two lengths under Jimmy Fortune from Godolphin`s China Visit.

James Fanshawe`s Warningford was a short-neck away in third, with Ian Balding`s Nicobar in fourth completing a great day for British raiders.

Mount Abu took the lead off China Visit (Jamie Spencer) a furlong out for a clear-cut success and could now head to Hong Kong.

Gosden, who was winning his second Group One race at Longchamp within the space of eight days following Sulk`s victory in the Prix Marcel Boussac on Arc day, said: 'He was entitled to be here and has proved himself a Group One horse.

'The Hong Kong mile at Sha Tin in December now looks on the agenda.'
