ALTIBR DIES Hamdan Al Maktoum`s high-class miler Altibr has been put down in the USA. He contracted laminitis after injuring a hind-leg in a freak accident. The six-year-old, winner of the Dubai Duty Free at Nad Al Sheba in 1999, had not raced since finishing sixth in the Breeders` Cup Mile last year. Successful in the Keeneland Turf Mile in course record time last season when trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, Altibr had been due to move to Neil Drysdale in California for a campaign on the west coast of the USA.
